Creative professional, San Diego-based, fueled by curiosity & creativity. (She/they)
In my 20s, I bounced around different states, trying out majors like Early Childhood Special Education and Psychology. It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to hit the road with an alt-rock band that I discovered my true passion. That experience helped me find my groove and passion for social media, leading me to graduate with a BA in Mass Communication & Media Studies.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve spent over a decade fully immersed in the digital marketing world, working closely with countless local businesses—especially during my time at Yelp. During my time there, I wore many hats—organizing influencer events, managing social media, educating business owners, connecting with the community, and serving as Yelp’s PR representative for the region.
And that’s what landed me here in sunny San Diego, where I’m loving life, soaking up the sunshine with my dog Jasper, and exploring the trails whenever I can.
As social media users become increasingly discerning, brands must adapt their strategies. Gone are the days of relying on gimmicks and false urgency to capture attention. Your overly branded post feels like an ad and will keep people scrolling by.
Stop the scroll by being real and build connections.
Social media is where brands can shine by delivering genuine value and entertainment that actually means something to their audience. Whether it’s sharing stories, giving sneak peeks behind the scenes, or providing ‘edutainment’, it’s all about fostering those real connections.
Users notice the difference. When brands focus on quality content rather than just filling up a calendar to post daily, users actually look forward to engaging with it while scrolling among all the posts from friends and family.
